Hi.
One of your men, Dave Sebright, suggested I try your site. I am looking for info on the pilot and crew who flew a med-evac for Special Forces team ODA-221 at Hill 471, Khe Sanh, on 1/29/68.
The team members were volunteers from FOB 3 who had gone up the hill seeking the bodies of some KIAs and one MIA from MSG Bill Wood's team who were ambushed earlier that day.
(See my web site for details - about 1/2 way down is the story of Hill 471 and the fights.)
The covey was American Beauty Delta (the late COL Jim Stanton, USMC, Ret.)
I know the bird took a LOT of hits, but made it back (barely) to base.
I am trying to find out what happened to the pilot and crew - I heard that at least one was hit.
Anyone out there know anything about this mission? ANy help will be gratefully appreciated.
Best,
Jim Taylor
